After qualification a brief period in dental practice was followed by a series of NHS and hospital appointments which led to being appointed to my present position as Clinical Senior Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry (2002). I am currently the Deputy Director for Undergraduate Dental Studies, the Year 3 and 4 Lead for Undergraduate Dentistry and Topic Lead for the area of Integrated Restorative Dental Care. My research interests are varied having completed a PhD which examined the effective of training on the decision making process for replacing dental restorations and a masters in dental research which looked at some finite element aspects of post crown restorations. As well as these areas of interest research on aesthetics and removable prosthodontics, patient derived utility values, plaque re-, referral letter standards, tooth surface erosion, shade taking, tooth preparation for removable prostheses, dental record keeping, microbial contamination of prosthodontic appliances, have all resulted in peer reviewed publication.
I am currently the Admissions Tutor for the school with a keen interest in the use of the Multi-mini interview as a tool to select dental students.
