Conference FAQs

Conference venue

  • The conference will be held in the British Library Conference Centre in London
  • British Library, 96 Euston Road, London, NW1 2DB

Etiquette

  • Please wear your lanyards whilst attending the Conference
  • Please switch off of or mute any phones whilst in the auditorium
  • The recording, photographing or taping of any of the presentation or posters is not allowed, and the intellectual property rights of the presenters and their presentations must be respected.
  • Do not take uncovered drinks into the auditoria
  • Please dispose of any litter respectfully and carefully
  • If you have specific requirements you should contact the conference organiser or society administrator to make these known.

CPD arrangements

  • You have to sign in to be eligible for CPD each day and sign in areas will be made available.

Wi Fi

  • As a delegate at the conference, WiFi access will be available

Tea and coffee

  • Tea and Coffee breaks are factored in to the programme.

Lunch arrangements

  • Lunch on both days is included in the cost of the conference

Conference Dinner arrangements

  • A Pre-dinner drink is available from 1900-1930 hours to those who have booked to attend the conference dinner
  • Dinner will be served from 1930 at the Pullman Hotel next to the British Library
  • Special dietary requirements need to be made known to the conference organiser or administrative secretary well in advance.
  • Dress code is Lounge suit or similar.

Trade

  • You are encouraged to visit the trade (they have a significant role to play in helping us meets costs and make it a successful conference) and you have a trade card for each day you attend the conference.
  • Get the trade representatives to "stamp" your card and enter completed cards to the prize draw (£50 of Marks and Spencers vouchers drawn on the Saturday).

Oral Presenters

Are advised to have their presentations uploaded by the audio visual staff in good time for your presentations, this can be done during any of the break times and ideally should be done well in advance. Please see the AV staff in the auditorium order to do this.

Poster presenters

  • Are advised that posters should be no bigger than A0 in size
  • Posters should be in portrait format.
  • Your poster board number will be made known to you when you register but are also shown in the Conference Brochure.
  • Posters should be up by 10am on Friday 27th March
  • Posters cannot be fixed with pins or tape but should utilise Velcro type attachments.
  • You are expected to "man" your poster between 15.15 and15.45 pm on Friday 27th March to answer questions from the delegates and judges
  • Posters need to be removed by 1600 on Saturday 28th March.
